Sage Intacct fit-gap and solution design
Solution design turns the requirements into a Sage Intacct design: what standard Sage Intacct covers, what needs configuration, and what needs an extension or a third-party app. superglue's agent drafts the fit-gap from the requirements and reads the client's Sage Intacct account, so the design matches the edition and the features the client actually has.
How this step works
What the agent does
- Drafts a fit-gap matrix that marks each requirement as standard, configuration, extension or workaround.
- Reads the client's Sage Intacct account for the edition, the enabled features and the existing setup.
- Drafts the design document: structure, master data, processes, approvals and integrations.
- Flags the gaps that change scope or cost, so you raise them before the build.
What you decide and approve
- How each gap is closed.
- Which extensions and third-party apps the client buys.
- When the client signs the design.
What the client gets
- A fit-gap matrix in Excel.
- A solution design document to sign.
Key Sage Intacct design decisions
- 01
Classify each gap by the tool that closes it
Use standard configuration first. Smart Rules validate data, Smart Events update fields, send email or call an API, and Platform Services adds custom objects and pages. A Marketplace app covers the rest.
- 02
Check the subscriptions before you design a fix
Platform Services, Dynamic Allocations, Projects and Contracts are separate subscriptions. Confirm what the client has bought before the design depends on it.
- 03
Design reports with account groups
Build the income statement and balance sheet structure as account groups, and slice them by dimension. The board pack then follows from the chart and needs no manual mapping.
- 04
Fit approvals to the approval policies
AP bill approvals allow up to six value levels, and purchasing approvals route by value, department or transaction department. Flag any rule that does not fit these types early.
“We do 40+ Sage Intacct implementations a year, and data migration used to take half our budget on every project. superglue turned our biggest cost center into something we can scope in hours, not weeks.”
Frequently asked questions
What are the key Sage Intacct design decisions?
Classify each gap by the tool that closes it; Check the subscriptions before you design a fix; Design reports with account groups; Fit approvals to the approval policies. The agent drafts the fit-gap, and you decide how each gap closes.
Does the agent decide on customizations?
No. The agent lists the options for each gap and their effect on scope. You decide, and the client signs the design.
How does superglue work with our consultants?
superglue works alongside your team. The agent takes on the repetitive work, such as reading documents, drafting, mapping, loading and reconciling. Your consultants keep the client relationship and the decisions, and they approve every change to a client system.
Can we use our own implementation method?
Yes. Write your firm's method as a playbook, and every consultant and every session follows it. The documents the agent produces carry your firm's branding.
Which systems can we migrate from into Sage Intacct?
Common sources are QuickBooks, Sage 50, Sage 100 and Sage 200, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Xero and spreadsheets. The agent also reads Excel, CSV and XML exports and most systems with an API or a database.
Is client data safe?
superglue holds a SOC 2 Type 2 report and works under GDPR. Credentials are encrypted with AES-256. On the Enterprise plan, superglue can run on your own infrastructure.
How do we start?
Start with one live Sage Intacct project. Connect the client's systems, give the agent the statement of work, and run the first steps together with us.
