Sage Intacct discovery and requirements
Discovery workshops decide what the client needs from Sage Intacct. The answers end up spread across call notes, emails, chat threads and the sales team's memory, and some get lost between pre-sales and delivery. superglue's agent reads all of them and keeps one list of requirements, with the source and the decision behind each item.
How this step works
What the agent does
- Reads workshop transcripts from your notetaker, and the email, Slack or Teams threads and documents of the project.
- Writes the requirements per business process, with the source and the person who stated each one.
- Lists open questions and conflicting statements for the next workshop.
- Keeps a decision log that design, testing and your colleagues reuse.
What you decide and approve
- Which requirements are in scope.
- The priority of each requirement.
- When the requirements go to the client for sign-off.
What the client gets
- A requirements document per business process.
- A decision log with the source of each decision.
What to get out of Sage Intacct discovery workshops
- 01
Walk through one full month-end close
Record each close step, who does it and which spreadsheet it uses. Manual allocations and recurring entries are often candidates for standard Sage Intacct features.
- 02
Collect the reports that leave finance
Board packs, lender covenants and budget reports set the dimensions and account groups the design needs. Get a real copy of each one.
- 03
Capture approvals as amounts and approvers
Ask who approves bills, purchase orders, journal entries and expenses, and above which amount. Sage Intacct approvals work by levels, values and departments, so capture the rules in that form.
- 04
Write down the intercompany flows
List who pays for whom, which costs are shared and how they are settled today. These flows decide the inter-entity setup.
“We do 40+ Sage Intacct implementations a year, and data migration used to take half our budget on every project. superglue turned our biggest cost center into something we can scope in hours, not weeks.”
