Acumatica discovery and requirements

Discovery workshops decide what the client needs from Acumatica. The answers end up spread across call notes, emails, chat threads and the sales team's memory, and some get lost between pre-sales and delivery. superglue's agent reads all of them and keeps one list of requirements, with the source and the decision behind each item.

How this step works

What the agent does

  • Reads workshop transcripts from your notetaker, and the email, Slack or Teams threads and documents of the project.
  • Writes the requirements per business process, with the source and the person who stated each one.
  • Lists open questions and conflicting statements for the next workshop.
  • Keeps a decision log that design, testing and your colleagues reuse.

What you decide and approve

  • Which requirements are in scope.
  • The priority of each requirement.
  • When the requirements go to the client for sign-off.

What the client gets

  • A requirements document per business process.
  • A decision log with the source of each decision.

What to get out of Acumatica discovery workshops

  1. 01

Walk each process with the people who run it

Go through order to cash, procure to pay and the month-end close step by step with the staff who do the work. Managers describe the intended process, and staff describe the real one.

  2. 02

Capture approvals as they happen today

Record who approves purchase orders, bills and expense claims, and at which amounts. This list is the input for the approval maps.

  3. 03

Record how inventory is valued and tracked

Ask for the costing method, lot and serial tracking, units of measure and the warehouses and locations in use. The valuation method is hard to change once an item has transactions.

  4. 04

    Capture transaction volumes

Acumatica licenses by resource level and transaction volume, with unlimited users. Monthly counts of orders, invoices and journal lines decide the license tier.

How do we start?
